Eid Wrapped Chocolate Bars

We were super blessed during Eid il Fitr.  We had a lot of family in town. It was possibly one of the best Eids I’ve had here in a long time.  Family from overseas, family from out of state, and family from out of town.  We were all together and it rocked.

Kids galore.  They were everywhere.  So much so that you had to watch where you step.  The number of teens went up too.  With so many kids and teens, it essentially threw off our Eid gift/money gift routine.  There were far too many kids to do one gift each. Instead we pulled names from a hat for a gift exchange.  It worked out nicely, I think.

As for the teens, in previous years they usually didn’t get wrapped gifts.  The older ones are usually more interested in cold hard cash.  Unfortunately gifting each one with a ‘eedya, cash gift, was out of budget.  Not wanting to disappoint anyone, I came up with a fun solution.

Boom.

I found the million dollar chocolate bars at Bed Bath and Beyond.  The “Eid Mubarak” papers are from Silver Envelope.  Simply cut to size, wrap around chocolate bar, and adhere with double stick tap. Modern Eid’s craft paper sheets are also an excellent option.

The teens were pretty excited about the chocolate bars presented that way that they almost forgot it wasn’t real cash.

Almost.

Who am I kidding?

I look forward to your blog entries every day. I just wish they weren’t so few and far between. I think your family is adorable and your stories GREAT. I have to admit that I’ve read your whole blog and have even read some entries more than once. Can we have some more? Thank you for being you Amnah!!!!

Awww, thank you Teence! I know, I know! I’ve been trying my hardest to get myself on a blogging schedule. I have a lot going on in “real life” which makes it difficult to find time to sit and blog. My goal is to carve out a specific time just for blogging. I promise, I’m working on it! Until then, you can re-read some more posts 😉

Thanks! I purchased the chocolate bars from Bed Bath and Beyond. I have to be honest, I never tasted the chocolate. I mostly got it for looks. I assume it’s not mind blowing delicious, but am sure they taste okay. The teens that received them didn’t complain 😉
